This is a great juicing blend that promotes detox and is packed with natural anti-inflammatory goodness. It’s refreshing and has a great combination of flavors that aren’t overwhelming. This is the combo that Nick and I juice most often as a significant energy boost and everyday detox drink.
Here’s A Little Motivation On Why Each of these Ingredients is Beneficial:
Kale is often one of the healthiest, most nutrient-dense foods. High in antioxidants, flavonoids, vitamin K (1327% of the RDA in one cup!), vitamin C, vitamin A, omega-3s, and sulfur. Also a great source of fiber, low calorie, and has shown to help lower cholesterol and fight against cancer cells.
Celery contains phthalides which have been shown to lower blood pressure by relaxing the muscles around the arteries and allowing vessels to dilate. High in calcium, magnesium, potassium, low calorie, and high anti-inflammatory nutrients. Also, an excellent diuretic to flush out excess fluid from the body.
Cucumber is made up of 96% (extra-nutritious) water. High in vitamins and minerals that improve skin’s appearance, and is high in silica which is known to improve joint health. Also been shown to have cancer-fighting properties and promotes healthy blood pressure and digestion.
Parsley is high in volatile oil components and flavonoids which inhibit tumor formation and help neutralize certain carcinogens. High in antioxidants, folate, iron, vitamin K, vitamin C, and vitamin A. Shown to protect against heart disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and helps to remove heavy metal build-up from the body.
Pineapple high in vitamin C and other vitamins and minerals that improve immune function, strengthen bones, and prevent against macular degeneration, and gum disease. High in anti-inflammatories and aids in proper digestion.
Lemon helps fight infection and parasites, high in vitamin C, citric acid, magnesium, and bioflavonoids. Aids in weight loss and proper digestive function.
Ginger Root aids indigestion. High in immune-boosting nutrients and has shown to give migraine relief and help prevent colon and ovarian cancer. Alleviates high blood pressure and lowers bad cholesterol. Helps treat ulcers, arthritis, and nausea.
Cleaned and ready for the juicer:
- 2 large cucumbers
- 7 stalks of celery
- 1 bunch of kale (about 7 big leaves)
- 2 cups pineapple
- 1 bunch parsley
- 1 lemon
- 1/2 inch slice of ginger root
Serve over ice. The sooner you can drink it after juicing it, the better the health benefits!
