The AIDS Media Center

The AIDS Media Center (AMC) is a targeted resource portal for media professionals covering the global issues of AIDS. The mission of this partner-driven website and initiative is to enhance the creative energies of local and international media professionals and organizations to play significant and contributing roles in the fight against HIV. The site provides useful tools and resources for media organizations and professionals -- e.g., radio, print, television broadcast -- to deepen their knowledge of -- and, ultimately, the depth, quality and impact of their HIV coverage.


AVERT is an international HIV and AIDS charity based in the UK, working to AVERT HIV and AIDS worldwide. AVERT has HIV and AIDS projects in countries where there is a particularly high rate of infection, such as South Africa, or where there is a rapidly increasing rate of infection such as in India. They also take education and information to people in almost every country in the world through their highly successful web site.

The Global Health Council

The Global Health Council is the world's largest membership alliance dedicated to saving lives by improving health throughout the world. Their diverse membership is comprised of health-care professionals and organizations that include NGOs, foundations, corporations, government agencies and academic institutions that work to ensure global health for all.


The Global Network of People living with HIV and AIDS (GNP+) is the only worldwide network representing all people living with HIV and AIDS. GNP+ has nurtured the development of six fully independent regional networks of people living with HIV covering Africa (NAP+), Asia (APN+), the Caribbean (CRN+), Europe (GNP+ Europe), Latin America (REDLa+) and North America (GNP+ NA). Through their extensive network, GNP+ can help identify and contact people living with HIV and AIDS around the world who are interested in sharing their story with the media.

Hopes Voice

Hope's Voice International is an HIV/AIDS organization committed to promoting the education and prevention of HIV and AIDS to young adults. The organization empowers HIV positive youth to be leaders in educating their communities and to be catalysts for change around the globe, through peer-to-peer education and the Does HIV Look Like Me? campaign.

Panos Global AIDS Programme

The mission of the Global AIDS Programme is to enable developing countries to shape a global response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic by stimulating informed public and policy debate and amplifying marginalised voices - particularly those affected by HIV/AIDS - through media and communication initiatives.


Within UNAIDS, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS, brings together the efforts and resources of ten UN system organizations to the global AIDS response. Cosponsors include UNHCR, UNICEF, WFP, UNDP, UNFPA, UNODC, ILO, UNESCO, WHO and the World Bank. Based in Geneva, the UNAIDS secretariat works on the ground in more than 75 countries world wide.
