SUPPORTING PARTNERS
The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation is a US-based non-profit, private operating foundation focusing on the major health care issues facing the United States and the world. The Foundation operates as an independent voice and source of facts and analysis for policymakers, the media, the healthcare community, and the general public. Kaiser partners with media organizations in the U.S. and around the world to develop multi-faceted public education campaigns on health issues with a particular focus on reaching young people with information about HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. The partnerships generally combine targeted public service messages with longer form special programming and other forms of outreach utilizing the assets of our media partners. Free informational resources are distributed through toll-free hotlines and dedicated websites. Kaiser’s work in HIV/AIDS policy seeks to provide the latest information, research, and analysis on the major domestic and global HIV/AIDS policy issues. This includes analysis and monitoring of: key epidemic trends; global and domestic funding for HIV/AIDS; the major programs that provide prevention, care, and treatment to people at risk for and living with HIV/AIDS; and public opinion about HIV/AIDS. A major focus of our work is on the impact of the epidemic on those populations and regions of the U.S. and the world that have been most affected, including young people, women, and minority communities. Kaiser also operates several websites that provide a wealth of up-to-date information and data on HIV/AIDS and other health issues in the U.S. and the world. Kaisernetwork.org, a free news and information service, offers daily summaries of HIV/AIDS-related news from around the world and webcasts on major HIV-related conferences, events, and briefings. We operate two websites, GlobalHealthReporting.org and GlobalHealthFacts.org, which provide the latest information and data on HIV/AIDS, TB, and malaria from around the world, with major support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for GlobalHealthReporting.org.
UNAIDS, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS, brings together the efforts and resources of ten UN system organizations to the global AIDS response. They are one of the founders of the Global Media AIDS Initiative. Their website has very useful information on global statistics and key prevention messages, as well as anything else related to HIV and AIDS.
